Kindness changes the world.
The Casey Schulman Foundation was started as a non-profit foundation in 2014 with the mission of awarding a college scholarship to Justice High School students who would carry on the kindness, positivity and interest in the world around them as Casey Schulman had done in her lifetime.
These students are representatives of the foundation for their intellectual motivation and their concern and interest in helping others.
Since the inception of the scholarship, we started Shine On; community-led volunteer programs that work in tandem with the scholarship, and is now a symbiotic part of the foundation.
The Scholarship
The scholarship rewards students who have persevered through various challenges – poverty, severe health issues, bullying, racism, oppression – and, regardless of the challenges, have risen to the top.

Because of Shine On week, the Thankful 5k, SHBR Swim-a-Thons and Trivia Nights, and the Shine on Casey Golf Tournaments, Casey’s legacy of joy and kindness has inspired events throughout the community. Want to get involved? We would love for you to join us!
